Link isn't a surgeon, but if Navi is anything like a normal fairy, he doesn't need to be since she can heal. Plus, the Ocarina can pull fairies out of Gossip Stones, so Navi doesn't even need to do it, Link can just stock up in his Bottles after an Ocarina song and give them to Mario after a Koopa bite. Or maybe Mario would prefer those Mushrooms that witches make Potions out of?
