Getting banned and stuff I've been doing...

I was banned from two subreddits on reddit.com because I was accused of "spamming". What was I spamming you might ask? Things from Newgrounds. I had too many urls from newgrounds.com coming from my reddit account so I was banned. It wasn't the same movie or game, but seperate movies and games on seperate subreddits. I think the mod who did it dosen't understand Newgrounds and thinks I was just trying to pimp my stuff all over the place. I wasn't, I swear. I was trying to pimp everyone's stuff all over the place. I guess ill just be sticking mainly to the NEWGROUNDS SUBREDDIT OF AWESOMENESS!

Thought that was a funny story so yeah... I'm a trouble maker.

I was banned from McDonalds once for ordering fries with no salt and then asking for salt on the side. I feel your pain.

Man what BS... The tough thing with the NG subreddit is nothing there will ever hit the Reddit front page for non-subs, so it's best to promote stuff in the default subreddits. Sometimes I wonder if we should just be encouraging artists to do that vs promote on the NG subreddit... Although it would rock if we could get that thing past 1,100 subs... Like 1 million subs.

yeah, I wish the Newgrounds sub would pick up some. Apparently the problem with posting Newgrounds related stuff on other subs is that links from Newgrounds.com can't be more than 10% of your reddit activity. It will appear to the mods as spamming if it is. 75% of the things I post reddit wide are Newgrounds.com urls apparently. However, that includes things I post to the Newgrounds subreddit. So in order to NOT appear to be a spammer, you have to have a diverse url range when posting to certain subreddits. I tried to explain that I just enjoy Newgrounds and the content offered by this site and that the stuff I was posting was diverse and I am not posting links for self promotion or profit (as what was assumed by the mods because of the similar url postings). In the future ill just have to be more selective with what I wish to share with the people of reddit.

I just realized I never responded to your message about this when I read this news post. I need to not read stuff until I have time to reply, because otherwise it'll get marked as "read," which means I'll forget.

That's bullshit. No other way to put it. Reddit doesn't ban users who submit a lot of links for YouTube or Imgur or Buzzfeed or Wikipedia. Apparently they've failed to grasp that Newgrounds isn't a solo content producer but a community hosting site like YouTube or Imgur.

yeah, I tried to let the mod know that. He said people who post a lot of content from a single youtube channel get banned. I told him I was posting a variety of things from different authors. He didn't seem to care =p
